ABOUT
THE ARTIST
Gay Germain is an artist whose formal education was in business.
She began her work under the tutelage of renowned sculptor, Leonda Finke,
and after four years gravitated toward painting.
Initially, Gay was drawn to explore watercolor, but later she expanded
her work to include oils, acrylic, and mixed media.
Gay has continued to broaden her focus by studying life drawing at the National
Academy of Design, and printmaking at the Robert Blackburn studio, both in New
York City. Currently, Gay studies at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota,
Fl., under the guidance of master printer, Patrick Lindhart.
Germain is an award winning artist
whose paintings have been featured in both solo and group exhibitions
at the following museums and galleries: Armory Art Center, Palm Beach,
Florida, Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, Daytona Beach Museum of Arts
and Sciences, the Selby Gallery of the Ringling College of Art in
Florida, the Chelsea Art Museum and the Nassau County Museum of Art in
New York. Also, Abecedarian Gallery, Colorado, Art Modern Gallery,
Naples, Art Rouge Gallery, Miami, and State of the Arts Gallery,
Sarasota. In addition her work is in private collections throughout
the United States.
